Dr. Georgia Clarke - Dentist

dr georgia clarke

Born and raised in regional Australia, Dr Georgia Clarke obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from James Cook University in Cairns, Australia. Since graduating in 2016, she has practised general dentistry across a wide range of settings — from public to private practice, big city to rural landscapes — she takes pride in treating patients of all ages, from all walks of life, and in all aspects of routine and general dental care.

Known for her welcoming and worldly view, Dr Georgia has worked in family-dental practices, volunteered on healthcare trips to Sri Lanka and the Philippines, spent two years supervising and teaching dental students in Australia, and last year worked in some of the most remote locations in the world, treating Australia’s First Peoples — as an Indigenous Australian herself, this work meant a lot to her. She continues to be a member of the Indigenous Dental Association of Australia (IDAA) and advocating to see more Indigenous graduates in healthcare.

Dr Georgia is committed to ongoing learning not only in dentistry, but in life. In addition to her continuing dental education, she returned to University to obtain her Graduate Certificate in Health Management and Leadership. Last year, Dr Georgia passed her Canadian National Dental Examining Board exams, allowing her to bring her international experience to patients here in Canada.

Dr Georgia is known for her empathetic and caring nature, her open communication, and her gentle touch. She believes in educating patients so they can make the best decisions for their oral health both at home, and in the dental surgery.

After her own health journey taught her just how connected the body really is, Dr Georgia became passionate about the relationship between oral health and overall wellbeing. She believes in empowering patients to look after not only their teeth, but their overall health, as the two go hand-in-hand.

She takes the time to explain every procedure and she welcomes questions and active involvement from her patients at every step. Patients regularly praise Dr Georgia’s attention to detail, her focus on prevention to minimise future problems, her kindness and her down-to-earth nature.

Outside the clinic, Georgia can be found reading in the park or coffee shop, hiking and camping, dancing in the kitchen whilst cooking, enjoying some friendly competition in card games, catching up with friends, and — as an Aussie who enjoys a coffee — exploring BC’s coffee scene for something that tastes just like home.
